# RelayX > RelayX (relayxapi.com) is a pay-as-you-go X/Twitter data API — user profiles, tweets, replies, search, followers, lists, communities, Spaces and trends — available as a REST API and as an MCP server for AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code). You buy credits and pay per item returned; no X developer account is needed. Key facts: - Base URL: `https://api.relayxapi.com` - Authentication: send your API key in the `X-API-Key` header. - Pricing: 1 USD = 100,000 credits. Tweets 13 credits each, user profiles 15 credits each, followers/following 3→2→1 credits each (tiered by page fill), follower IDs 2→1→0.4 credits each. Single lookups (user info, trends, Space detail) 15 credits per call. Every call has a 15-credit floor, waived on bulk responses. Checking your balance is free. - No subscription or monthly minimum; credits don't expire. New accounts get free trial credits. - Credits are held per account and shared by all of its API keys. Throughput (requests per second, per key) scales with the account's credit balance. - Responses are JSON. Enter any public @username; it checks three things as a logged-in observer account (and warns if that account follows, blocks or mutes the user, since then it may not see what strangers see) and shows the exact posts behind each result. Usually 2–5 seconds. - Search: are the account's recent original posts returned by `from:username` on the **Latest** tab? Posts missing from Latest are re-checked on **Top** — present on Top means reduced visibility ("hidden from Latest"), missing from both means a likely search ban. - Search suggestions: does the account appear in the search box's typeahead? - Replies: are its recent replies shown in the default view of the posts they answer? Replies found only under X's "Show probable spam" fold, or only in chronological order, count as **deboosted**; replies missing even after reading the whole thread count as **hidden** (ghost ban). - Results are worded "likely": X doesn't publish its visibility rules, so a test can show *what* is restricted, not *why* or *for how long*. - Since August 2026 X has piloted **Under the hood** (x.com/i/under_the_hood): for some accounts, a monthly summary of the visibility labels applied to that account's own posts. It is X's own view but covers only your own account, monthly, as counts per label (not which post). Since September 2026 it also reports limits applied to comply with local laws. - Checking by hand: use a second account that doesn't follow you.
